Get something you will carry. I recommend a small frame .38 revolver. S&W Model 60 would be an excellent choice.

    Remember Ruby Ridge.

O'reilly's got it right. Frankly, you may need several different guns, depending on dress and circumstance. I have found that I carry my .32 Tomcat the most; if I can carry in the waisband with the shirt over the grip, I may carry a Walther or even a 1911. The .38 is my #2, as with the holster it is a bit bigger than the Tomcat, but I still carry in pocket (need a bigger pocket).

Overall, however, if you only have one, get the 38; the operative term here is concealed. The Kel Tec is a decent size for overall carry, but may be a bit much to drop into a pocket.

EAA Witness wonder finish compact in .45 acp or 10mm. My 2 cents [8D]

Don't over look the Kel-tec 3AT (380). Very easy to conceal and a small/lite package.

I'm splitting up my carry duty. I'm going to get a Kel-tec .380 for my all the time gun, and also a Glock 29 in the powerful 10mm cartridge for my main duty gun.
I wouldn't be a bit afraid of the Witness, although I'd opt for the compact 10mm.

Where you live and what kind of clothes do you wear. As well as how big of guy are ya. These will all play a part in what you can comfortably carry "concealed." If your are a big guy and live in a colder climate where you can wear a flannel shirt (or jacket) all year, a full size pistol is easy to carry. If you are a smaller man and live where it is warmer and only wear light clothes. Well....

The Witness in 45 is a fairly good choice.

By the way, it is hard to read posts in all caps, and is considered shouting.

I'm used to typing in caps at work. You're right, though - does make it harder to read. I guess I'm pretty small at 5'8' 155. I like the larger frames, but practically speaking they might not be the best choice. It does get right hot in the summer (VA) too. Everyone's given some good input, though, so I reckon I've got some good choices to think on.

Not to make this General Discussion, but I was down to 155# a couple years ago. Pretty hard to hide anything if you dress slim. In-the-pocket in the summer; larger in the winter.

I have a tough time keeping the grip of even a PPK/S from poking an outline through my shirt.

I'm finding my Beretta Tomcat .32 (2.4" barrel) the most accurate of my guns.
I have several larger caliber, longer barrel (longer sight radius), but the learning curve with my INOX Tomcat has been remarkably quick.

I obviously need to spend more time with my .45's.

I live in VA too, and carry daily. A Colt CCO in .45acp. Also carry a Combat Commander I built. As a licensed Gunsmith I get to see a lot of options, but I preferr Colt in 45acp, Corvettes, and Harleys...

just my opinion but I also have a concealed carry permit and I usually carry a taurus millenium in 45acp. I have a short barrel smith and I like the taurus more. I have 10 rounds in the mag and if I need more than 10 rounds of 45 I figure its over for me anyway.Check them out. Very easy to carry and very concealable.

I carry a Glock 23 for my concealment weapon. I recently went through a shooting course for my armed PI license and I witnessed the Kel-Tec in action. I was not impressed. The person next to me was shooting a 9MM Kel-Tec and it jammed every 3rd round. The instructor shot the gun and it did the same thing to him. This gun was new and had never been fired prior to this training. I have then decided I would not put my life in the hands of a Kel-Tec! I prefer to spend the extra money for a reliable firearm.
