Why or how is a "topic locked"?

  In this forum, the moderator Capt. Kirk considers that after 10 responses the question is answered and the thread has become discussion. Discussions are for the General Discussion board, so to keep the forum moving along he locks those threads.

  In the Ask the Experts forum, it is assumed that most questions can be answered within 10 post. They are then locked to keep them from dragging on.

  Idahjo - thanks for the concealed carry advice. Will definitely consider it. I was curious about the "locked" thing too but it looks like it's all cleared up now.
