eaa witness
I was looking at getting an eaa witness.
I've heard that the older ones in 9mm or .40 can't be converted to any other calibers, but the newer ones can be.
first is that true and second how can I tell a newer one from an older one?

Folks, not looking for alot of BS,just general insight on the most recent manufactored Witness all steel pistols. I like the idea of being able to change slide/barrel and have another caliber. Especially the 22 conversion. Probaly start with a 10mm and buy extra barrel ASAP in 40 S&W. So the question actually is this; WHAT INHERENT PROBLEMS DO THESE PISTOLS HAVE? #2 HOW DIFFICULT IS THE TRIGGER TO CLEAN UP FOR SINGLE ACTION USE? Thanks 0 -
Good Guns! I like the CZs better though.

What is the difference between tha eaa and cz? 0 -
The CZ was the original design and better made. The E.A.A. imported gun uses its design (either the 75 or 85, I can't remember) and is a very solid gun with a more pc-compliant trigger. Like nearly any gun made today it can benefit to a trigger job.
I'll likely never buy a CZ gun, I don't think they're worth the price when there's the cheaper and nearly as good Witness.

EAA hand guns are very good in my opinion. There wonder finish on the hand gun is better than SS. I like the lock and cock function. I also like the fact they make a 10mm. CZ does not. My 2 cents [8D]

The trigger isn't as good as the CZ, But after some use it smooths out. General fit and finish aren't up to CZ's standards, but still really good compared to other guns in their price range. Durability is very good. BAMBI, The 75 and 85 are the same basic gun... The witness design is a modified CZ75, in which they eliminated some parts and made simpler the manufacturing processes.

For the price...Yes.
I have a friend who has shot his (in competition) for quite some time. He has not had any problems with it so far.

Very good gun for the money. I don't think the triggers are too bad for a stock gun. I like the fact that the slides and frames are a litte beefier than a stock (original) CZ-75. If you have problems with the trigger, send it to: http://www.egw-guns.com/ 0 -
are they dao or double/single 0 -
They are double action and single action. They also have lock and cock capability.
