What year was my Winchester 94 manufactured

I have a Winchester 94 -30 WCF- long wood on forearm, flat barrel band, metal checkered butt plate, serial # 15298**. Is there a good source to look up this and other Winchesters, what is the year of manufacture for this gun? value?
Thanks guys, this will be a no brainer for someone.

    My book says 1949. That's a unique one with the flatband. Hang onto it if it's in decent shape. It will only go up in value. Regards Dave

    Mine says 1948 started w/1500000.
    1949 started w/1626100.
    So yours would be a '48 model.
