I have a older red label with 26inch m/ic barrels fixed chokes.Want to shoot skeet with it.Will I need to have screw in chokes installed or will this gun be alright to use.I shot a pateren and at 40yd's in a 30inch circle 95% & 98% in each tube.I know skeet is shot at a shorter range but will that make that much difference in chokes. Also by adding chokes to a fixed choke gun would that devalue the gun. thanks for any help on this.

Cheaper yes........better, probably not. If you are into sp. clays, I would suggest the sporting clays model Red Label. A little nicer feel, in my opinion. The cheap route , you might look at the Baikal sporting clays edition. On GB there is one @ #15402054 les than $600. You might look also at the EAA and Franchi. Truly, the Red Label (can also be had in stainless) is likely the best buy for the money, the most durable and the best looking (of this bunch). You truly do get what you pay for in fit, finish and quality in O/U shotguns.
You should also go to a couple gun ranges and gun shows to see what's
out there slightly used. Red Labels, Brownings, Weatherbys, Berrettas, ect. can be found reasonable, espec. this time of year. They bought the latest clay killer out, mariage, divorce, new baby, income tax, bored, ect. A lot of nice shotguns have spent their time in the closet collecting dust. Might save you $$$ to look around a little, ask around a little.

I own a Red Label 20 ga skeet gun and it is a nice gun. On the low end, I own 2 of the Stoeger Condors, a 20 and a 12. I have been pleased with them. They sell for around $300. They have been good fuctional guns for hunting. I have heard that they loosen up what shot a lot, but I have not had any problems. I actually do better with them than my Red Label or my Belgian Superposed Lightning.

Buy the Red Label if you can afford it. This is a lifetime gun, not a disposable.

The spanish Lanber O/U's are simply AWESOME, especially the 2087's. MUCH better fit and finish over Stoeger or anything else in their price range, ($550-$600) for the 2087 model.

Buy the Red Label, it is a great buy. My first was a 12 ga field gun with 28" barrels. I learned to shoot it pretty good at clay targets or birds. My second was a 20 ga sporting clays model with 30" barrels. I couldn't hit squat with it until somebody showed me how to "float the target" above the sights (line up the 2 beads on the barrel). Now I prefer the 20 ga. You can't possibly go wrong with the Red Label. It will/should last a lifetime

Worry is the interest humans pay on the debt of miscalculation.<BR>

You can't go wrong with the Red Label durability .They have a reputation of holding together after zillions of shots. I really wanted to buy one in 20 gage but neither the pistol grip or English stock fit me. I came across a Beretta 20 gage that fit well and was lighter so I bought it.
Before you put your money down compare the two guns.

I would go to a well stocked gun shop and try them. I was looking at a Browning, but then picked up a Franchi Veloce. And fell in love w/ it. It fit just right! So look around, try as many as you can!!!
