Just got offered a P-89, very clean, looks to be 90% or better. Guy wants $225.00,

Should I buy, or try to chew him down???

    Thanks,

See if he'll come down some. Depends on what comes with it, mags, holster, ammo, or whatever.

Bought the older son one for his 21'st B-day 4 years ago. I'd try to get it for 200, but I would not feel ripped off at all at 225. IMHO Pesonally, I hate slide mounted safeties and decockers, but he loves it.

If it is Stainless I would grab it.
If the serial # is 304-7xxxx or before then it came with 15 round mags.

My answer is no, considering you can get a NIB for $300 or so, right here on these boards. Go to semi auto and plug in P89 for a search, and see for yourself.

Now add in shipping and transfer fees. I think $225 sounds good. You will like it. I have one and would not sell it. If it is the older one serial 304-xxx or older I dont think it will accept the mags from the new ones but the new ones will accept any of the mags.

I bought an almost new, stickers still on the magazines, Ruger P97DC for $200 two weeks ago. Last year I bought a P89 for the same price. Thats pretty much what I see Ruger P-series handguns going for used. The only one I'd consider spending $250 on would be the P90. They seem to sell for more for some reason.
