Remington 58
I have a Remington model 58 in 20ga. The date code on the barrel is 'PD,' which seems to indicate manufacture in June, 1957.
However, I didn't think the 58 was made until 1959-1963. Is this barrel the original or is it off an older 870? Are the barrels stamped with the date code when manufactured or when assembled?
Any response would be appreciated.

I'm thinking about purchasing a model 58, I don't know much about it. Is it a descent shotgun? Any bad features / quirks about them. This is a 20 ga. unit very nice wood and metal... 0 -
