My AC556 which is a factory full auto version of the Mini-14 has many 1000's of rounds through it with no ill effects.

Currently have two Mini-14's...Both are over 12 years old and have untold numbers of rounds though them. Never a problem, accuracy has not changed.....

What you heard is Not True, The Mini-14 is Very reliable and will last a lifetime of shooting.I only wish is was as accurate as it is reliable but thats another thread[;)]
