Sounds kinda shady. What's their feedback like? I think I'd pass on the rifle.

Going to "stick up" for the Pawn Shop......here's why. If you List a gun on Gunbroker, you have an option that "automaticly re-lists" the auction if it doesn't sell. If you're not careful this can happen on an un-sold auction WITHOUT you knowing that. Then you re-list your auction through the "normal" way and suddenly, you have two Auctions for the same item going on at the same time!

You jumped in and bid on both....(Not sure why), then the seller finds there is two of them and "Ends one of the Auctions" so there can't accidently be "two Auction winners" on the same gun.

Apparently, there must have been other bidders as you say you were High Bidder on both, (again, I don't know why you would bid on both), BUT the Seller closed one of the Auctions and you must have been extended out further at a higher price on that one they ended. Now you think they should sell you the gun for the lower bid. What if they had ended the "cheaper" bids auction and let the "HIGHER" one run? Would you think the price was fair for that one?

What I see here is you have jumped into a situation that may not have been a deliberate thing on the Seller's part, yet he was trying to bring it back into line. YOU BID ON BOTH! That made it more of a problem to the seller to end one of the auctions and get things back into line.

If I were the Seller, I would simply "Close" the remaining auction and simply start over.......unless you could come to a reasonable price. To Re-List it seems the best way to get it taken care of....MY OPINION! Then if it sold......fine and no further problems. I doubt the inference that something is "wrong" here is anything more than venting on your part. I doubt a legitimate business would want the bad advertising from trying to pull a fast one.

Put yourself into the Seller's shoes for a few minutes and see what you might do........ I doubt he is trying to screw anyone.....My thoughts!
