im sorry but when it comes to TASCO hope for the best and expect the worst. i do not sell them in my shop. get a simmons 44 mag. and never look back. they are just as good as a leupold and your not paying for a name. i have 10 of them and would not trade for a leupold, ziess, etc. i own a gun shop and sight in a lot of rifles for people and i've looked through a lot of glass. the simmons 44 mag is the way to go

Yes, but....chumchum already owns the Tasco.

SWFA got a close-out price on these scopes from Tasco, which is why they were able to sell these for $300. (They continue to sell them at this price.) SWFA claims they are left over from a US military contract, but it's possible that they were rejected by the military. No, they are not all defective like yours, but other scopes may be defective in different ways.

Tasco no longer does business in the US, so there is no warranty. Your choice is to either live with the problem, or pay to have it fixed.

nmyers, who would you contact about repairs. I would like to get a price on fixing it. Then I can decide on what to do. NOW 260 i'm glad you enjoyed much success with your Simmons, however I didn't. I only ever had trouble with 3 scopes before one was a Simmons Aetec, Kahles and the other was a Bushnell Elite 4200. I have BSA, Bushnell, Leupold, Swarovski, Kahles and Tasco. I think you will have problems will all brands. Some more often than others. This is my first problem with a Tasco. The true test of a scope isn't how well it works and looks when you first mount it for a custom and sight it in. I think it's how well it works and looks year after year.

There is a company in Florida that is doing warranty repair work on some of the scopes by Tasco made BEFORE Bushnell purchased Tasco from the Bankruptcy court. They charge a fee, but it is reasonable....like $25 or something to cover shipping, etc. Anyway, if you call the Customer Service Department at 1-800-423-3537 you will be able to find out what you need to do, etc., and you can get your scope repaired....reasonably! Hope this helps......

I used to have the name of the company in Florida, but I have mis-placed it.....same company that has always provided service for Tasco.....Maybe someone knows.....
