Welcome to the Forum! $85-90. 0 -
Looked in several of my books, and pretty much came up with the same pricing as DG, about $100. Then I remembered that the prices shown were for the 12 ga. version. In their day for the money Stevens made a good product. The 28 ga is the rarest guage, meaning they made far fewer of them than the 20 or 410. The real value comes from someone who is looking to buy a Stevens in 28ga. The Winchester Md 37, (single shot) in 28 ga is worth 5-10 times that of a 12 ga. So with all that being said, don't sell it for $100. If you are going to sell it put it on GB with a high reserve, you will soon find out what someone will pay for it. Again out of all the gauges, 28 ga is rare. Regards Dave 0 -
The problem is that... RARE doesn't translate into value! Stevens singles are utility guns and have little following when it comes to collectors.
I quote most such items at $35.00. I assume good mechanical condition, but years of use and abuse. I also know that such items will carry a $100.00 price tag at a dealer's table, but that most of the time they're not sold for that.
I think I speak for many when I say that tables could be lined with these little guns marked at $35.00 and I wouldn't even look at them.
Yours, though, is what I consider a curio. Different enough for me to be somewhat interested. This is the one gun that I might look at if it was tagged at $100.00. Pride would force me to barter you down to $85.00 because I'd be sure that I could resell it for that amount when I tired of having it around.
