I have been given an old single shot 12 ga. shotgun that is in need of some TLC. Don't know anything about the gun brand. Please help with any info you might have. The gun has the name Eastern Arms on the side of the receiver with the inscription on the barel "1929 model" with the serial # 2079.

    Thanks,
    DS

I believe either the very end of Crescent production or a Stevens. I could be wrong, of course, but it really doesn't matter. Utility singles enjoy little interest either with shooters or with collectors.

I quote a standard value of $35.00 for one of these pieces (assuming reasonable appearance and good mechanical condition). As I've stated so many times before... You may realize more out of the gun on a given day, but on most you won't be able to give it away.

Repair or restoration (other than as a hobby) makes no economic sense. Much cheaper to go to a show and buy one. There the gun will have a tag price of $100.00, but the dealer will gladly let it go for half that price most of the time.

My listing shows that Eastern Arms Company was a tradename used by Sears, Roebuck & Company on inexpensive shotguns and revolvers made by the Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works.

Otherwise, unless this is a family heirloom, I agree with Nord.
