A lot of the "CETME" type guns floating around now are US-made receivers with Spanish parts kits. The three things I would check for is headspace, fit of the parts, and muzzlebreak pins protruding into the bore. If it feels poorly made it probably is. J&G Sales has synthetic stocked Cetmes for around $250 if I remember correctly

I've a "dreaded" HESSE based CETME,that has digested over 2K round count, with nary a hitch and only modest maintenance.
One assembled correctly, offers much fun for the asking price,IMHO..................0 -
Good: The rifle is fairly inexpensive. This is a .308 battle rifle for under $350. The mags are cheap. You can get good used ones for as little as $5 each. Since everything is cheap so far, you can shoot inexpensive surplus ammo too.
Bad: The short-range sights suck. You can't really gauge the accuracy of the gun unless you have a fixed rest. The slide doesn't lock open when you fire the last round in a mag.
Overall this is a good value for the money. I have a M1A, and I bought one of these just to shoot.0 -
