Colt 38 Super, year of manufacture?

Need the help of a Colt expert to date this pistol, serial 41819.

  That number strikes me as an early post-war pistol, probably made around 1947. We have Colt experts here on GB who can no doubt tell you much more than I can.

  Since we have the experts here, what about a colt 38 super serial 2818? what year was it made? Thanks

  Hi muss! My book says .38Super 2818 would be 1929. First year of production. If that one's in good shaoe, proably anyone here would trade you for a few Jennings and maybe some cash even! [;)] My couple year old Blue Book gives the $2000 range for this in 95-98% condition! Probably a keeper!
