gun collection
I need to sell a collection of very nice weapons but don't know the value to post on the auction. I am new to this site but an old hand at shooters. Army Veteran 1972. Thank you for any suggestions.

2 or 3 month ago, maybe longer there was a post of what firearms folks thought every gun collection should have. I want to review those lists but can't seem to find the post. Help please, if you can recall on or about what date. Thanks. 0 -
To get an idea of what they are worth, watch for similar items on GB. To find out what they are really worth, write up a good listing with pictures and list them. You will get better response here than anywhere else.
You can ship them as long as it is to a FFL. Read the "For Sellers" section. The 1887 is probably an antique (manufactured before 1898) and is exempt from most regulations.

Hello Clay and welcome to Gun Broker. The commemerative is a rather common and brings $400 to $500 if in new condition with the box and sleeve as well as the factory papers. If you don't have these items its price is closer to the $400 level and a lot of folks purchase these guns to use as fancy shooters. The shotgun other the other hand is very desirearble to Winchester collectors since only about 65,000 were ever made over the span of 11 years and 10 gauge production did not start until aroud the third year of production. I think that the last run of 87 levers was in 1898 so most, if not all, should be antiques and unregulated as firearms in most (but not all) areas of the country. Values on these shotguns can easily reach $2500 or more if it is REALLY nice example and all original. Quite frankly this is a case where only a real Winchester expert should be trusted to give you an estimate of that guns value because there are too many variables in Winchester collecting and there are guys who collect nothing but 1887 levers...and they ALWAYS have room for another nice one in their safe!

Clay- Welcome. I agree with Marks numbers. It will be very helpful to you if you could get someone knowledgeable in firearms to help you provide a description as to condition.
Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob0 -
Why not give them to one of your siblings? At least you'd keep them in the family.

Thanks for the info guys. These were offered to brothers and sis first, nobody wanted them. Almost all of my fathers guns are for hunting.
Our family was big into it, and as we got older it became less.
I don't know if you can get ammo for the 1887. As for the 94. it has never been fired so why start now. arnt they worth more unfired?
If I thought these had any kind of sentimental value or meant anything to the family I would'nt sell them. I do have my dads favorite rifle, a remington 740 woodmaster, almost as old as I am. and I am old.
I would never get rid of it
Thanks again for all the replys0 -
Hello, he divided the guns amongst you five, you cannot divide "between" more than two.

As for example only: if you have 30 firearms to divide "amongst" 5 children(30/5), each child would recieve 6 firearms.[;)] 0 -
