$489 too high? Wthby Vanguard SS .300 WSM
My dealer couldn't get me a Howa M1500 SS Lightning (yet) in .300 WSM from his normal supplier. He called back and said he could get the Weatherby Vanguard though. Basically the same thing, so is $489 too high? It is a mom-and-pop style of store so I know they can't compete with the Wallyworlds out there, but is that too out of line.
Aglore, I gave him the Sports South number and I don't think he wants to deal with them if he can get something through his normal supplier.

According to the Weatherby web site,the Vanguard in all black finish retails for $476.The stainless model is $595.Sounds a bit high if it's not the stainless.IMHO

Dealer cost on the blued Vanguard is $339 or there abouts. The WSM chambered ones get a few more dollars from some distributors compared to the standard chamberings. Heck even with shipping to and from me I could beat that price on a blued version. He is going to have to diversify when it comes to distributors. This is just one example. The one he normally deals with doesn't have the product you want, so he refuses to try getting connected with other distributors. Yes $489 is too high IMO for the blued version.

IGB, where has my head been? I thought the show was last weekend! Geez, I'm loosing it. If you happen to think of it you can take a look this weekend. I don't think I'll be down your way. Painting to work, testing here at work, and company on Saturday.
