i have a colt new service in 455 eley where can i find ammo for it?

You can sometimes find "Fiocchi" .455 Webley ammo in some stores from time to time. This can be fired in the Colt New Service .455 Eley.
For information sake, the ".455 Eley, the .455 Colt, and the .455 Webley can all be fired in the Colt New Service. Here is the differences: The length of the brass is different. It can be likened to the .22 rimfire cartridges......"Short, Long, and Long Rifle," with the shortest being the "short", then a slightly longer brass case, and then the Long Rifle with the Longest brass. The .455 Webley is the "short." There is also some Webley MK I cartridges which were made with black powder. These brass cases were the "longs." The "Long Rifles" were the .455 Colt/Eley which were exactly the same cartridge. Cases lengths are: .455 Webley MK II = .740 inches, .455 Webley MK I = .870 inches, and the .455 Colt/Eley was .920 inches.
If you reload, you can cut down the lengths wanted from .45 LC Brass. You have to machine off the front edge of the rim, (the bullet side), so the rim is .33 of inch thick. They come about .52 inches thick and won't allow the cylinder on the gun to close. Hope this helps!

I believe that Old Western Scrounger has 455 ammo.

R.Paul has given you a comprehensive answer; only thing I would add is that if you watch auctions / shows / shops carefully, you can find Remington from the early post war period and Dominion ammo made up until circa 1975, both of which are boxer primed brass. Loaded moderately with lead bullets, this brass will last a *long* time. Figure on $1 to $2 a round for this ammo.

Old western Scrounger has it. OWS.COM If I remember correctly, it ran about $35 per box of 50.
