I need help with my remington 572
I have a Remington model 572 pump action .22. I disassembled it for cleaning, and I need a little help with reassembling it. The problem I am having is figuring out where to put the Locking bar Spring (I guess that is what it's called, I have seen it called the hammer spring as well, it is the spring that connects to the locking bar). When I Put the locking bar assem. Into place, and start to put the trigger plate assem. Into place, where should the looped end of the locking bar spring rest on the trigger plate assem. Or where should it connect to in the gun? I believe it may be bent different than how it should be bent. So I maybe could figure it out if I knew how it should be shaped. I guess my question is, how should the legs of the spring be shaped (L - shaped or parallel to each other), and where should the looped end of the spring make contact or rest on the trigger assem. When the gun is reassembled ? Thank you.

John-here is a schematic on this rifle. I have just had one into pieces, and back togather without much diffuculty. I don't quite undestand your problem. If this drawing doesn't help, feel free to e-mail me.

My problem is: I have part #48 connected to part #46, like it should be. When part #46 is in place in the gun, where should the long arm or the spring on part #48 be before I insert part #81. I know that the short arm of part #48 should rest on the bar of part #46, but shouldn't the long arm of part #48 have to touch part #81 somewhere when it is all put together? That is what I can't figure out. I can't figure out where the long arm of part #48 should be when part #81 it put into place, and the gun is all put back together? Thanks for the help.0
