Most powerful .32 & .380 acp ammo?
Gonepostal's post got me to thinking (oh no). What IS the most powerful (in energy more so than velocity) .32 and .380 ammo commercially available in a defense load?

This regards 32ACP only:
Mike, I'm not going to look up specs, but the Fiocchi FMJ and JHP fire better than the Federals. Seems Italians should know more about this round...it was used for so many years in Europe. Winchester Silvertips have their supporters, as will Hornaday.
The retired LEO who runs an area gunshop (and advises me to carry a .45 over an SP-101) stands by Fiocchi.
Ammoman has some decent prices on the JHP; have not found an inexpensive supplier for the FMJ yet.
For 380ACP, Speer Gold Dots seems the choice for stopping power. No gimmicks.
But there is always another variation someone invents, claiming this and that...
One thing I've learned on these forums is, shoot a few kinds from the gun. And stay away from UMC. And especially Blazer. And cheap Remington.0 -
Sometimes I'll order German Geco BAT ammo for myself and have found it to be the most powerful rounds.

I am with gap, the glasers are a good bet, considering it was good enough and proven to work by the designer 0
