What is a 7mm Mauser, 1926 on recevier worth?
I know what the going rate of 8mm Mausers are but haven't seen any on the surplus market for quite a while. What is a German 7mm Mauser with 1926 on the receiver worth/ It is in good condition and is completely military, no sportizing done at all. It has turn down bolt as well. A friend ask me $65 for it before he takes it to the gun show this weekend and he has surplus ammo for $5 a box! Can some one give me an idea what it is worth? Thanks for any replies.

Price is Right....! If You want it, you won't be hurt at that price...There's still plenty of 8mm's out there for under a C-Note..and 've seen several 7mm's at $100.00 TO $125.00 AND THEY GO WANTING!...So its gonna depend upon the Demand and Supply....and where in the States or else where You might live for that matter...

If it has a crest ( National Coat of Arms ) on the receiver, above the chamber? It might be worth a heck of a lot more then $65.
Depending on how close to factory original condition it is?
Going through my references, it seems that Venezuela would be one of a very few countries that would have 1926 marked/dated 7mm Mauser.
The above Mauser "Short Rifles" were made by the Czech's and it goes without saying, there first rate quality.

The Brazilian Model 1908 is a 7x57mm and was made through 1926.

Thank you all for the input, I called him to tell him I would pick it up Friday. Like I said, I know what 8mm are worth because I have several VZ 24s as well as others but I have not seen any 7mms for a good while around here. It is completely factory original and I will post more info on it when I pick it up. He also has one of the Russian 5.62x54 that was made by Westinghouse in 1916 I believe. The stock has been sportized and the bore is terrible. He picked up 4 rifles in the lot, the 7mm mauser, the Westinghouse, a Jap rifle, and a Carceno. Has $200 in all 4 and wants to make at least $15 profit per rifle. I figure the action off the Mauser is worth the $65 since I am down to my last VZ24 action and want to build a couple more customs! Again thanks and once I pick it up, I will post all the markings on it to figure out exactly which one it is!
