1903 Springfield value
I need to get an approx. value on a Springfield 1903 rifle. It is in origional unaltered condition. Metal retains 60% finish, bore is bright, wood finish is about 70% with no splits or cracks. There are a few dings but no big dents or gouges. The barrel is stamped SA 7-30 and the receiver is marked Springfield Armory 1903 with a ser. # of 12561xx Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

This serial number is high enough so that you don't fall into the improperly heat treated receivers.
I have seen 1903's of your description asking anywhere from $650 to $850 at gun shows.

Idaho Cowboy, Brophy's book says your rifle was manufactured in 1923. The 1930 dated barrel would be a replacement. Is it in the straight (S) stock or the stock with a pistol grip (C type)? The original stock would have been the S type with grasping grooves. 0 -
it is in the S stock 0 -
Even w/ matching s/n with the stated finish condition I'd suggest $600-650 would be the range in my market area (Ohio).
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
The m1903 with a similiar dated sling, the tools, and with s/n as you have noted is $400 - $600 assuming that the bolt and its parts are in good shape as well. There are several web sites that have collectors involved with the m1903's. 0 -
