SKS Last Round Jam
I purchased a Norinco SKS several years ago and have shot it regularly. It is stock except for a scope mount receiver cover.
The last time I was at the range, the last round of each load would always end up with the bullet sticking straight up between the bolt and receiver, and when the bolt is pulled it would drop staight down into the magazine.
The couple of range visit before that...no problems.
The ammo is the same brand...Russian, I believe...six boxes sealed in a white pouch.
The scope mount receiver has been on for a while so I don't think that is a problem, the mag is factory 10 round fixed, and I keep the rifle clean.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

did the very end of the follower plat break off? the little nub that activates the bolt hold open on the last shot this hsppened to mine and very simpiar problme occured
If force ain't work'n... Your not use'n nough of it.
I know the spelling is bad but guess what I DON'T CARE0 -
Wagion;
The bolt hold-open function works as advertised. The last round never chambers...it ends up stuck between the bolt and the receiver. If you place the round back into the magazine and release the bolt, the round chambers, fires, ejects and bolt locks open fine. This happens only to the last round.

?? now I am guessing ...is the round getting misallined somehow?

the fact it's just the last round makes me think it has to be the mag.good luck TIM 0 -
I was thinking mag as well, but I have never heard of any problems with the fixed mags only the duckbill ones. There are a couple of things I want to do next range visit, plus I will keep an eye out for a replacement 10 rounder to try as well.
