gunbroker has a section for importing / exporting in the for buyers / sellers section as far as paying for it bidpay.com may be they best way and last but not least look at the feedback of this person or look at gunbrokers fraud insurance section

the thing that scares me is that we could be living in someone else's own reality

So far as imports go, pre 1898, no troubles. I have spoken to some folks in switzerland about this and if england has no trouble, the US has no trouble. Not considered to be a gun, plain and simple, so it can be sent right to your door.

Scams..... well gb is insured and guarantees that bidding is safe but still check his feedback.

pre-1899 no problem. BUT the package must have an envelope attached for US Customs which encloses proof that it is manufactured before dec 31,1898 (that can be a copy of a page from a book of manufacturing dates). On the postal sevice declaration just list it as an antique, and probably would be a good idea to insure it. Prior to this just check with customs in the country to be exported from,. to make sure you can legally export and post an antique firearm. Then you should have no problem. I've done it.

If you have a reason for concern about being ripped off, such as low or no feedback ... before auctions end ask the seller if they are willing to use an escrow arrangement, for which you will pay the fee. If they say no ... then you may want to back away because the assurance step is not costing them anything so they must have other reasons to not want to do it.

Lastly, research the procedures on GB and make sure that you follow them, and pay extra for shipping insurance in an amount equal to the documented price range for this item. Don't go any higher because you are wasting money ... insurance will not pay above average value or value within documented range.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

I would definately recommend sending it by normal Airmail with insurance as suggested. UPS is too dear and too problematical. It's pre-1899 so it will go as long as the documents are legit and verify it is what you say it is.
