Remington 7600 in 30-06
Your thoughts on this rifle would be appreciated: my biggest question would be accuracy. I've been told the pump is not nearly as accurate as a bolt action.
Thanks.
Thanks.

My father owns a Remington 7600 30-06 and three of the nicest 8 and 10 point mounted bucks you could want. It is a great gun and has never failed. He mounted a Leupold 3x9x40 Varix II that really finished the package. 0 -
I recall seeing a program about a guy who was said to be the world's best deer hunter. Lived somewhere up north--like Michigan or Minnesota. Anyway, he had killed hundreds of the nicest bucks you ever saw. Had most of the mounts on his cabin walls. I recall the interviewer finally getting around to his choice of guns. He said his number one choice was a Remington pump in 30-06 caliber. Said he always wanted the option of a quick followup shot if needed.
When they showed his rifle, it had a scope on it--looked like a low power 3X or so.
There was no doubt, this guy was for real--not just a bunch of talk. From that point on I had a new respect for the Remington pump rifle.

more than accurate enought for anything you want to hunt larger than chipmunks (ok, chipmunks too, but keep your shots under 50 yards). 0 -
