SIG P220 9mm mag. question

I am in the process of obtaining a P220 9mm with American magazine release. It seems that mags are not all that readily available in this configuration. Anyone have a suggestion as to where I might find some? Can the European magazine be modified to work?

  I was not aware that SIG made a 220 in 9mm.

  9mm discontinued in 1991
  
  Other discontinued chamberings: 38 Super and 7.65 and ... there was even a 22 lr conversion unit.
  
  Mags, especially American style may be a challenge. If you've tried Midway, Brownells, and Cheaper Than Dirt you might want to give Gun Parts a look if you haven't already done that.
  
  As for modifying a Euro mag. if you have an American for reference you jut might be able to do it if your handy with tools, or your gunsmith might be a better choice ...
  
  If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
