Norwegan colt ???
I have a semi-auto pistol that looks like a 1911 colt, it has the initials "jb" on the slide with 1941 above them.
the other side has 11.25 m/m aut. pistol m/1914 then the serial# with the initials "JB" and what looks like a crown symbol above them.
It is .45cal. I have been told it was made for colt in Norway and the jb stands for John Browning. All parts have same numbers.
Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks

Here is a excellent link, that gves you some history of your pistol.
Since your's is dated 1941, it was made for the Germans during their occupation of Norway.
It appears you have a very desirable collectors piece IF it's in factory original, very good condition or better.

I have always liked the slide release on this model/copy of the 1911 pistol.

I picked one of these up in 1967 when a local dealer got 6 of them in. I paid $60 for it and am still kicking myself for not buying them all. I have shot mine quite a bit over the years and it has always worked well. It is basically a 1911 Colt with an extended slide release. Mine is dated 1945 without any German markings. It should have diamond wood grips that are very dark and a loop on the magazine. The have serial numbers on about every piece. Mine is all matching numbers. 0
