    TexShooter,
These scopes are some of the very best you can buy. I have hunted with them for years, and I hunt with an old elk hunter, that swears by them, for the last forty years. He shoots nothing but a Remington 7 mag, and has never gone on a hunt, that he did not take a bull. This guy hunts with his twin brother, and they take pup tents, and provisions for a week with them, and they sleep out on the mountion, one on the west side of the canyon, and the other on the east side. They communicate with two way radio's, and they have been some of the most succesful elk hunters in the western states.
Neither one of them will use anything but Shepherd scopes.

I hope this helps you in your quest for a quality cope. You can not go wrong with a Shepherd!
    Great Hunting!

I would suggest you call them direct and see what type of warranty/repair guarantee they have currently. I'm not sure what it is now, but didn't use to be that great.-- I have two of them and they are good scopes, but they are not perfect. They have dual reticles and one of them I have always moves slightly so that the crosshairs are off of the center circle enough that it is irritating. They are very clear and good in poor light, and do adjust for bullet drop well. --- Keep in mind that you can't just switch them to another rifle and have them adjust for bullet drop properly unless it is a caliber that is similar in velocity and ballistics. You then have 600.00+ scope stuck on a gun you might want to switch. Just things to consider before you invest in one. Good Luck....... [8D]

Go to the search engine for this website and type in Shepherd. Should find a lot of old posts about them.

I used one a few years ago and it wasn't the best at holding zero. It worked ok when it was right and made hits at long range on coyotes.

I've got 2, been using 'em for bout 6 years. 1 on 6.5x55 and the other on .338 mag. Best quality, but heavy. Not the easiest to dial in, but once on, they stay on. If you need one, their the best.

I recently took a Shepherd in trade and it had been abused to the point that it would not adjust properly and someone had camo painted it as well as drilled holes in the front bell for attachment of a shade. I sent it back to Shepherd and they called a month later saying that this was one of their earlier production scopes and that they were having quite a time trying to repair it. About a week a later they returned a new scope, not the old one. I don't see how a warranty can get any better! There was no charge other than $6.50 for shipping.
As far as sighting in and making adjustments I find no faults.

Early Shepherds were made by Hakko.
Quality control horrible. Could get a batch, wouldn't track at all!!!
Guess who makes the infamous Springfield Armory scope???
    Same company.
Don't blame Shepherd. Almost put Dan out of business.

Today's Shepherd is tight. It actually has a breaking period, or better stated, "a procedure"......as many high quality scopes can.

    Warranty.....is Lifetime.

Had sold quite a few. Even repeat sales to the same customer.

    It does what is advertised!

    Happy Bullet Holes!
