    Trade name for an inexpensive gun. I don't think Winchester because they tended not to be involved in trade guns, but I could be wrong.
    A good photo will tell the story.

    More likely a Stevens offering for which there are parts available from many different sources. I would caution that any repair will quickly exceed the cost of a repalcement gun, so be careful.

    I found a reference that notes that "Chicago Arms Co" was a trade name used by Sears on shotguns, dateing from the late 19th to the early 20th Centuries.

    A number of firms made external hammer pumps during that era . The Winchester 97 was just one of them. The best thing would be to post good quality pictures, maybe somebody would be able to identify the manufacturer.

    Believe the first Stevens pump was the 520 which also dates to the first decade of the 20th Century. To the best of my recollection it had a internal hammer.
