P.S. The 10/17 has a new integral scope mount like the Model 77.

First off glad to see you back, haven't seen hide nor hair from you forever.

The .17 is a very accurate, speedy, little, round. But from what I hear the wind plays he!! w/ it.

Iwas at the local gun shop the other day.Now this is coming from a worker there and he is saying that ,I believe it was Ruger is coming out with a caliber between the .17 and the good old .22 .Thought it was a .20 and it is reloadable.now thats just hear say unless some one knows for sure about this.

While I don't own a 17 I have shot a few. For the life of me I don't see what the hype is. Yeah, it is cute, fun, etc. But it has the same problem as any other rimfire round. Not reloadable. Plus expensive, compared to the venerable .22. So while it would have its niche, it is too expensive for thousands of rounds of target shooting, and too little to hunt anything bigger than perhaps squirrel or rabbit. So until the price is comprable to .22s- and by that I mean no more than $15 per 500- I won't bother with it.
