ID 22lr M1carbine
I have a .22 lr M1 carbine. It is not an Erma. It uses military parts, trigger group, sights, stock are all post war Inland. The receiver is alloy, only markings are ser # on top of receiver in front of ejector port. The bolt is crome, there is no ejector or extrator. The mag is military with what appears to be an H&R mag brazed inside. Please help to Id.

From your description it sounds like an example of the old Johnson-Tucker .22LR "Automatic M-1 Carbine" from the mid 1960's. Johnson-Tucker was a division of AAA Construction Co. based in St. Louis, MO. The tip off is the alloy receiver, nickel plated bolt, a .22 magazine brazed or welded inside a 15 round carbine magazine, and all other parts interchangable with the .30 cal Carbine. Many times the name Johnson-Tucker can only be seen when the stock is removed and the receiver fully exposed. This would be my guess and I don't think Johnson-Tucker produced too many of these rifles.

Thanks Mark.
I took the action out of the stock but still found no other markings. This will give me a good lace to start my research.
Thanks again for your reply.
