  I have a S&W model 28 in 357 with a s/n of AHZxxxx any idea when it was made. Thanks for your help. David

  Bill... The Smith 17-3's were made from 1967 to 1977.
  It looks like your gun was likely made in 1972.

  Thank you Lefty. The revolver appears to be unfired, the factory
  box S/N does not match the revolver. $325.00 out the door was
  too good to pass up (private sale).
