M1 Carbine Mag

I have an M1 carbine magazine with the markings of "A.1." on it...can anyone tell me what that stands for? Thanks

  I am not a carbine expert but I believe that marking represents the Autotyre Co. of Oakville, Conn. who were subcontractors for Inland's carbine program.

  Mark is correct. The AI marked is a fairly common WWII magazine.
