12 gauge Remington shot gun question
I have a Remington 12 gauage shot gun (old) that says Remington & Sons patient May 30, 1884 - May 7 - June 11 - Dec 31, 1872 - Sept 9 1873. I am not able to locate a model number on the gun. I was hoping that you could help me out here. Some people have told me that it is called a falling block. I was wondering if you could determine what type of value this has or where I could go to find out the value?

We should be able to give you a model number but more info would help. Is this a side by side double barrel? How do you open the gun to load it? What is the serial number? 0 -
It is a single barrel. You pull back the trigger and then another part is there where you pull it back to load the gun. 0 -
It sounds like you might have a rolling block if you meant to say you pull back the hammer (not trigger) but they were only made in 20 ga. The only other single shots are the Rider side cockers and a Brasilian made gun neither of which seem to match your description. 0 -
Hi! Are you sure you aren't looking at a rolling block Remington Rifle?More info, please. Barrel length, octagon or round barrel, sights, straight stock, butt shape, etc. 0 -
