Military trainer?
Was going thru my late Grandfathers collection of odd rifles/pistols and came across this neat little Bolt action that I have no clue what it is, where it was manufactured, or what it's use was.
Looks overall like a scaled down Mauser 98 almost. Chambered for the 9 mm Bergmann (9 mm Largo). detachable magazine. Flip up degreed sight 1-7 what I don't know. Fixed blade front sight. Sling loops on left hand side of buttstock and forestock. Ser # NO 33937. A crest with a knights helmet with a X in the middle on the barrel + Bomb symbol (ordinance proof I think) + H1. On reciever it has the bomb symbol again with a pictagrapgh of a sailing ship with a banner around it " Destroyer Trade Mark" The bomb is on the Bolt as well. There is a # 3 on the bolt safety, but I don't find it anywhere else. steel buttplate. Has Czech ***stair* (1st three letters I can't make out, looks like another letter on the end can't make it out) stamped under the barrel opposite front sight. These are poor stampings.
The safety does not engage on the bolt, always done that according to my dad.
This Rifle is beat, but is a pleasure to shoot. All day and never know it, has no recoil. Won't feed the hollow point Blazer rounds though, have to be FMJs unless you want to do the single shot routine.
