Utica FireArms Co.
12 ga hammerless dbl Looks as though produced Mar 12, 1891. It has a grip cap that says Simpson Hardware company. It appears that Utica produced over 34,000. Anyone have any info on either company?
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ...chances are it's a duck!

You have whats called a "Hardware Gun".
"Utica Fire Arms Co.", was a trade name used for many years ( until they went out of business during the depression ) by the Simmons Hardware Co. of St. Louis MO.
If it doesn't have a foreign proofs on the barrel or receiver, it was probably made by Crescent Arms in Conn.

Thanks rufe-snow. That's more info than my family has accrued in over 70 years.
