Sendero 25-06 help
I just purchased a Sendero in 25-06 and was thinking about having some work performed to it. I primarily will be using the gun for Coyotes, groundhogs and crows and want the most accuracy I can get out of it. The scope is a Leopold 6.5-20x50 long range. I'm not sure of all the upgrades you can have done such as cyro, action trueing etc. I do plan on having a muzzel brake added. Let me know if you have had some success and what you think works and worth the money.

To be honest with you, I'd just leave it stock- it will be more than satisfactory as is.
My best friend has one just like this (except 4.5-14x Leupold) and it shoots like a bat outta heck. He has killed about 35 deer with it so far- all one shot. I have shot it several times and the recoil is so mild that a muzzle break is a waste of money. It is VERY accurate "out of the box".

I too don't understant the idea of a muzzle brake on a 25-06. Good luck anyway. 0 -
I have the same gun and would not change a thing. The 1 I have is shooting 1 hole 5 shot groups at 100 yards with hand loads.
The only thing I "MAY" change is the trigger and if I do it's getting a jewell trigger. Althought I dont want to mess with it shooting so well.
As for the muzzy break..... Put that money into your pocket for the bullets!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!0 -
I just purchased a Bushmaster in .223 with a muzzle break.......I think I lost about 12 years of hearing on that one. I know, I know.....where were my ear defenders. You cannot believe how much bark this little rifle has. Anyway, your hearing is going to take a beating and if a buddy is along, he won't be back. Just shoot as is, save maybe a trigger. Brakes are nice but more for real shoulder bruisers, as you expect a lot of muzzle blast with them. 0 -
Your Sendero is just fine AS IS!!! Not only that it is in one of the ultimate long range varmint chamberings!!! A muzzle break is totally unnessesary on that gun! As far as the trigger goes, the Remington trigger can be worked by a competant gunsmith down to 1.5-2# safely!!! That's low enough for a hunting gun. Now go get yourself some Reloader 19, some 85 grain Nosler Balistic Tips and load 57.0 grains behind that bullet and a CCI 250 primer! Should give you 3610fps and great accuracy!!! You can do any of the following to that rifle
"skim bed" the action in the stock. ~$50
add a stronger recoil lug ~$100
True the action ~$150-$200
trigger job ~$25 or $55-$200 for one of the aftermarket triggers.
All will make a difference,..but how much do you want to spend on a factory rifle? I would have it skim bedded and have a trigger job on the factory trigger to ~1 1/2lbs. JMO
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

Instead of a muzzle break I would put a Sims Limbsaver recoil pad on it. It makes a huge difference on a big gun and should work fine on a mild one like the 25-06. Cryo will not make a difference on the accuracy unless you are shooting for a long time. It supposedly aligns the molcules so they stay in place when it gets hot. Will do nothing for a cold barrel.

My thoughts on the muzzel brake was that I wanted to see the shot and even though the recoil is mild, I think vision through the scope would be affected by the recoil. I do like the idea of trying the limbsaver, I think that I will go ahead and give it a try.

There is a muzzle break made out of Alaska that is supposed to only increase the noise by 1.4 decibels. If you insist on a muzzle break this is the one I would go with but it is expensive. I know a guy who does it and if you want his info let me know.
