remington power loads in a .22?

Hey-
I was at the hardware store the other day, and i saw Remington power loads, used for concrete nailers. They look like shortend down .22lr rounds with not bullet, crimped on the end. The package says not to fire in a firearm and i was wondering if it was a safety issue or what, or if it was just a precaution and i could use them safely in one of my .22 rifles.

    Mike, you could shoot the power loads in your gun, but all you will get is noise. The reason for the warning is likely a liability issue.
    Since these shells seem to be hot loads, they might damage a firearm if fired into an obstructed bore.

    I have a large box of "Remington Humane Stunners" that I think were used to power the bolt of cattle killing guns in the slaughter houses.

    I have used them in a revolver for hunting dog training, and they work great, real loud. Of course they will not work in a semi-auto rifle or pistol.

    Your pretty much on your own using these shells, so if you hurt your gun or yourself, you cant say you were not warned.

    I think "Hilti" makes what they call a prop charge for their stud guns for construction projects. They look like they are .22 cal, but I have not tried to use them in a gun.

    these are also slightly larger than regular .22's sot they probably will not fit (almost like a .25 r.f.)

    One thing to keep in mind , some of these "poer loads" and "blanks" have some type of paper wadding and it can stick in the bore and cause serious problems when you fire a "live round"...also beware that a "blank" round is basically what killed bruce lee (or maybe his son?)....Be very carefull.....

    There are 2 diameters and 5 differnt charges in these things. .22 cal and .27 cal. The .22's have a winchester super-X headstamp. I have fired some of the brown ones in a rifle, when I was trying to shoot an arrow adapter I had rigged up. Incidentally the arrow adapter didn't work.

    If it's out there, eventually somebody will be tempted to try it!!! ROTFLMAO

    I'll give this guy credit though, he has enough common sense to ask around first. I have always looked at the Remington cartridges and wondered the same thing. Of course they're color coded by power level...

    ....I never met a gun I didn't like!
