1866 winchester 4th model

I am wondering if the 4th model can shoot both rimfire and centerfire.
I have a book which lists them as twin rimfire and centerfire.

  I was wondering where you got a book that says that the Winchester Model 1866 is a dual ignition firearm? 'The Winchester Book' by George Madis, page 95 states "Existing factory records indicate that 1,020 centerfire conversion 1866 carbines were assembled in 1891 useing parts which had been on hand for several years." However, collectors know that other Model 1866 rifles and carbines were converted to centerfire, some by Winchester, but, many more were done by local gunsmiths. But none are dual ignition. You either have a rimfire (by far the most common) or you have a centerfire, but, not both.

  Thanks for your info Iroquois Scout.
  I have the Blue Book of Gun Values 24th edition. On page 1594 it lists model 1866 fourth model as ".44 cal., twin rimfire and centerfire, serial # range approx. 149,000-170,101."
  How would one tell the difference between the two?

  It is quiet easy to tell the rimfire from the centerfire. Open the bolt and look at the face of the bolt. The rimfire action will have two wedge shaped prongs on the outside edge of the bolt and the center will be flat. On the centerfire model you will be able to see the centerfire pin in the center of the bolt and the edges will be flat.
  Madis gives the serial number range for the carbines coverted in 1891 as 167,000 to 169,000.
