I have a sig p230 that says its a 9mm short ....is that a 380 ? what kind of ammo should i shoot in it ?
also is 380 a good self defense caliber ?

  I know Sig no longer makes this gun. I assume it was replaced by the P232. Are there any significant diffences in the 2 models?

  9mm Short, 9mm Kurz, 9x17, etc are all different designations of what we call the 380 ACP here in the US.

  9mm short (also known by several other names around the world) is identical to .380-- the common name used here in the United States. I've owned my own P230 for over 20 years and it prefers Fiocchi ammo above all the other brands I've tried. Remington and Winchester simply do not provide the level same accuracy, although S&B is not bad and it cost much less than the Fiocchi.
