feg p9r +p rated?

was wondering if my feg p9r 9mm pistol would handle the +p loads?what you think thanks don

  The earlier P9R pistols had some mashing of parts due to somewhat soft steel. In later years, I also had a gentleman that had casings rupturing in the chamber with standard ammo. The casings were bulging and even blowing out due to the chamber being unsupported at the feedramp. Again that was with standard ammo. At the time, Century was the importer. They wouldn't do anything for him, other than they offered to install a new barrel at $150 cost. Ultimately he didn't have the work done and eventually got rid of the gun.
  
  Having said that, the P9R is an all steel piece. I don't know of anyone using +P in one. As with most manufacturers, I suspect if you were check with them, they'd not recommend it for their own liability reasons. On the other hand they may strongly tell you "NO" because they know it won't hold up. In general, I guess I would recommend that you not use it, at least not in any kind of quantity. So don't go out and buy a case of the stuff before you try one box first (or just pass entirely).
