Remington Model 11

I have a Rem. M11 that has a 28" cyl. bore. Is this factory?
It is a 28" solid rib barrel, and is marked CYL underneath
the barrel, right in front of the extension.

    can anyone tell me how to find out the date and value of an old model-11 12 gauge marked military finish? serial #701645 the barrel has no #'s on the left side?

    Whoa boy! What is the barrel that's on it? Is it serialed or have military proofs on it? Perhaps your barrel IS correct as is.

    I have a Model 31 military with a standard, but serialed, ribbed barrel. The books don't always have all variations encountered.

    First, the barrels on the Remington Model 11 and Remington Model 11
    marked "Sportsman" will interchange within gauge. I do not understand
    your needing a "correct" barrel with a Cutts. The original barrel would have a serial no. or partial on the bottom lug of the barrel that matches the receiver. The only original factory installed Cutts
    on a barrel would have the gauge stamped but no choke mentioned. Is sounds like the receiver is stamped "Property U.S. Navy". Are there any other U.S. indicators? Is the stock stamped with an inspectors
    cartouche? What marks are on on the barrel you now have? What is the
    gauge, choke marking and barrel length of your existing barrel? What is the finish, blue or parkerized? You may own a nice collectors item

    cutts can be still be bought anywhere and the bbl of a sportsman will indeed fit on a navy 11. i would call GPC in ny and buy a m-11 bbl and buy a cutts. bring it to a smith and have it put on. bingo, you will have a rem 11 with a cutts on it. now...if you are looking to pass it off as a ww2 surplus rem 11 with a govt contracted cutts on it, dont waste your time. cutts have changed over the years and old and new ones are easy to spot. most 11's ended up on navy exchange skeet ranges for recreational use after ww2. some are still in inventory too! the navy modified them and put cutts's on them for quick choke change. hope i helped.
