sir, i have 2 marlins and can tell you they are very picky about overall cart. length, the marlin design does not have a cart stop on the mag tube but relies on the carrier. my wife`s 357 will shoot .38 spl. all day but my .44 wont feed 1 .44 spl. try a heavy bulleted load which will be longer overall and i think your problem will disappear.regards dux

    GunHawke,

I had the same problem once with a 30-30. The loading gate screw had worked loose, causing the gate to jam the carrier. Have you checked it?

AS BAMA' SAID THE LOADING 'GATE' IS USUALY THE BAD GUY HERE. IF JUST TIGHTENING THE SCREW DOSEN'T DO IT, REPLACE THE SCREW AND 'GATE'. BE SURE TO LOCK TITE THE SCREW.
