I HAVE A, AMT BACK UP 380-9MM KURZ. A 9MM LUGER WILL NOT FIT IN THIS GUN, SO IS THERE A 9MM KURZ, IF SO WHERE COULD I FIND SOME. SOME ONE PLEASE, WITH MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN I HAVE. THANKS WAYNE.

9mm Kurz is what is commonly referred to as .380 in the US Just go and get some .380, 9X17, 9mm short, 9mm corto. All are the same thing. In the United States this ammo will be marked .380/.380acp/.380auto. 0 -
9mm kurz is the European designation for the cartridge we call .380 automatic. 9mm Luger is a different round with a longer case; be thankful that it will not chamber in a .380. You can buy .380 at most gun shops & sporting goods stores.
Never attempt to fire any cartridge in a gun if you are not certain that it is the correct round; the results could be fatal in some cases.

THANKS, I HAVE SOME 380 AMMO, I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT 9X17, UNTIL NOW. I HAVE HEARD OF 9X19 AND 9X18, I KNEW THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE. YOU KNOW THIS SECTION OF G.B. IS BETTER THAN ANY BOOK, MUCH FASTER, AND EXPLAINED IN 2 OR 3 WAYS, SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND. THANKS EVERYBODY WAYNE.

If I recall, Kurz means "Short" in German... Thus, 9mm short since it is 2mm shorter than the 9x19. [^]
Here's the difference between the 9x17 and the 9x19, but it doesn't show the Makarov round.

You can measure the cartridge of both and see the difference.
There are also a few oddball 9mm sizes between .380ACP, Makarov, and 9mm parabellum. Other stuff with foreign names.
I had an older 380 AMT Backup. The fire actually leaps from the barrel, and it has a kick. I bought American Eagle by Federal from cheaperthandirt.com for $6.66 per box of 50. Still do, actually, plus Speer self-defense rounds.0 -
