Try Pedersoli. They're heavily into reproduction Sharps, and I've never heard anything bad about 'em.

Check Dixie Gun Works web site, and also Navy Arms.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

Same here, I have a David Pedersoli Sharps 36" brl, dubble set triggers in 45-120 and its a shooter! And its very high quality in my view. The wood is beautyful, and the bluing is very deep and rich.

FrancF, where the heck do you get AMMUNITION? I don't know of anyone making .45-120!

I'd kinda like to have a Sharps set up like the one Selleck had in Crossfire Trail---a nice Sharps with a purty brass telescopic sight.

Oh, well. Maybe someday when I'm rich....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

    TR-
I reload it- You can buy brass from ballerd Rifle. Cabellas sells some that is loaded but its about $110 for 20 rounds. There are a few other places that sell obsolet cartriges.

FRANCF...I know all modern .45 cal. Sharps have a bore diameter of .457-.458 and the vintage ones like mine were sized .451. Do you know what the diameter of the factory loaded bullets is?

I belive .458 It always good to check befor you buy but
Great question! Beacuse some of the newer Rifles made overseas can have a groove Dia as small as .456! Mine however uses a .458 along with the newer 45-90's 45-110's.

But this is were it gets confusing, In my new Lyman book (48th edit)
on page 307 They use cast bullets with a dia of .459 I have been using .458 with no problem.

Just curious, i had mine rebarreled with a shilin match bbl and packed the original in grease. Now if i can just find a decent mid-range tang sight!
HANSOMBOY...Pedersoli is the better gun for the money.
