Howa .22-250 Questions

I'm considering a .22-250 S.S. Howa 1500 and would like to know if it is a true short action and any comments in general on the Howa. Thanks.

    A buddy of mine bought the ~$375 30-06 HOWA and it shot under an inch with the first box of factory ammo he fed it. He has probably $425 invested in it with scope, rings, mount, and rifle and it shoots almost as well as my 700 BDL SS DM in .300 win mag topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5x14x50... I should have bought the same thing and saved the other $700 for other interests.

    It matters not how many times you've been knocked down. What matters is how many times you've gotten back up.

    GREAT GUN. SHOOTS VERY WELL. MY GUN SMITH BUILDS TARGET RIFLES WITH THE HOWA BARRELED ACTION. SUB MINUTE SHOOTERS.

    I own 2 1500's one bull bbl. stainless my 1st and when they came out with the Legend version I had to have it! Both in 22-250 they like just about every load I have put thru them even factory ammo. Both of them will nail a dime out to 200 yds. Good luck....

    It is a short action. 3 inch magazine space. Very very good for the price. I would pick one over remchester any day.

    The Howa action is built in japan. And GHD they are not the same as a sako. Sako is made in Finland. The howa actions are supposed to be very good quality actions. Weatherby uses them for their vanguard rifles. The design appears to be sturdy and reliable. Would definitely consider one for myself if they would use longer barrels. I put 26" tubes on everything I shoot. regardless if it needs it or not. Just like that extra few fps and that extra weight helps me hold steadier on my target. Forgot to mention that I like heavy 26" barrels. The extra weight does not bother me when it comes to packing a rifle around for the better part of a day. I just have to keep in better shape.
