L C Smith Ideal grade

I bought an L C Smith Double barrel shotgun in the Ideal grade.
It is 12 ga. in 95% condition. The serial number is FW 53172.
can any one tell me the date of manufacture and approx. worth??
This on has been shot very little,checkering is like new ,with minor handling marks.

  Mike,
  Welcome. As you likely know, you have a Featherweight model. (FW)
  Original strong condition is everything. 95% really just not allow a
  reasonable pricing. Need to know the barrel length, chokes, Strong percentage of case colors, etc. Does your gun have have the Single
  Selective Trigger? Barrel tubes-any dents? Stock-an added pad or original buttplate? Percentage of original varnish on the walnut.
  Does it have auto ejectors vs. extractors? The list could continue.
  I do not know the DOM as I collect Parkers and shoot Fox. Unfortunately, no reasonable individual may assign a value w/o answers to the above questions. It does sound sound like you have a nice Smith. You purchased the gun thus I assume you have an idea of value[:)] 101

  Let's put it this way...
  
  A Field Grade in 12ga. that's 95% (really 95%) will top $1,000.00 from a motivated buyer. The Ideal Grade is a fancy field gun and a step above its plainer sibling.
  
  The difference between the former and latter isn't all that much if the Ideal has no options other than fancy side plates. But the options... Then there's a difference!
  
  One note - 12ga. is the most numerous gun and the least valued.

  I agree with nord and 101---as an aside, your Elsie was manufactured in 1923.
