Stevens Model 52-B

I have a .22 S/L/LR bolt-action single shot marked "SPRINGFIELD Manufactured by J. Stevens Arms Company Chicopee Falls, Mass. MODEL 52-B. No serial number. 414 stamped on bottom of receiver and barrel under stock. Circle around S - as proofmark. 14 is cirlced also. Silver trigger.

The 24th ed. Blue Book on p.1421 does not cover this model specifically. It talks about a range of models 45 to 54. It says there are many variations. On p.1752 it says No.52 1933-37 approx. 88,000 guns.

This rifle looks all original to me. I grade it highly also. Any ideas on value? It has a neat peep sight that looks original to the gun. Also, a circle-type of a front sight. It has a wedge in the rear sight dovetail. Metal buttplate.

  I've been having the same problem trying to ID my J.Stevens in 22 WRF.
  No model # or serial # on mine,but in the Gun Traders Guide,it looks like the Stevens-Springfeild model 82,although it is not shown to have been chambered in 22 WRF.Mine has the circled 14 like yours,but no other markings anywhere.If your's didn't have the Model 52-B on it,I'd guess it as a Model 83,but the way Savage,Stevens and Springfield mixed and matched things,who knows?GTG doesn't list a 52-B
  either,but shows a Model 55 in single shot w/sights as your has.I love the old Stevens,but sometimes half the fun is just trying to figure out what you've got.[:D]

  There is a book that might help you with information about your Stevens rifle.
  
  "Savage & Stevens Arms Collector"s History", by Jay Kimmel
  Published by the Corey-Stevens Publishing Co.
