Transfer to California C&R
Does anyone have information on whether a C&R eligable hangun can be shipped to a Holder of a C&R in the state of California or does the firearm need to be shipped to an FFL. Any information and reference would be apreciated.Thanks.

It needs to be shipped to a FFL if it is a hangun going to California C&R or not.That is why I have not gotten a C&R myself.CW

I have to dissagree with Mr. Watson.
It says in the booklet provided by the BATF for C&R licensees that "The sole intent and purpose of the collector's license is to enable a firearms collector to obtain curio or relic firearms from outside his or her state of residence".
It is also true that C&R handguns are exempt from having to be on the approved list for Calif sale.
Therefore if you hold a C&R license and a certificate of eligibility, you can buy C&R handguns from out of state, even if you live in Calif.

Not true. A C&R holder can only receive C&R rifles and shotguns that are over 50 years old. Any other C&R firearms must be transferred through a California dealer. You can purchase handguns in person when out of state and then bring them back to California, but you must register them within 5 days. The Certificate of Eligibility is only used within California when buying from a California dealer. It allows you to bypass the 10 day waiting period for C&R firearms and also exempts you from the one handgun a month regulations.0 -

CALRUSSIA ALSO DOESN'T ALLOW ANY COUGAR HUNTING. COUGARS HAVE BEEN EATING DOGS AND DOMESTIC CATS IN CALRUSSIA FOR SOME TIME, NOW COUGARS ARE SO NUMEROUS THEY ARE ATTACKING AND KILLING PEOPLE.

When we could hunt them, the mama cougars would teach their younguns to avoid humans, now they have lost their fear and we have become part of the food chain.

I KILLED A 9' TOM.
COUGARS ARE LARGE ANIMALS AMD NEED FOOD. WHERE MULE DEER ARE THE COUGAR WILL KILL AND EAT APPX. 2 ADULT DEER A WEEK.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM,THE ANTI HUNTERS IN CALRUSSIA, DO NOT WANT THE COUGARS HUNTED AND KILLED. THE ANTI HUNTERS IN CALRUSSIA WERE ABLE TO GET A LAW PASSED BANNING ALL COUGAR HUNTING IN CALRUSSIA.

CALRUSSIA COUGARS ARE NOW HUNTING PEOPLE FOR FOOD!!!
FOR YOU INFORMATION ALL OF THE WESTERN STATES, EXCEPT CALRUSSIA HAVE COUGAR HUNTING AVAILABLE FOR HUNTERS THAT WANT TO HUNT COUGAR, DURING SPECIFIED HUNTING SEASONS. AND BECAUSE THE COUGARS ARE LAWFULLY HUNTED AND COUGAR NUMBERS ARE KEPT IN CHECK, THE OTHER WESTERN STATES RARELY HAVE ANY PEOPLE KILLED AND EATEN BY COUGARS.
THE BLAME FOR THE RECENT DEADLY ATTACKS ON HUMANS LAYS ONLY ONE PLACE!!!! THE CALRUSSIA ANTI HUNTER GROUPS THAT GOT COUGAR HUNTING BANNED IN CALRUSSIA!!!

Lefty, sometimes information provided by the Feds is unclear, or may be found in more than 1 publication.
State Laws and Published Ordinances-Firearms (ATF P5300.5) states:
"This publication is designed to help you comply with both Federal and State firearms laws. Specifically, it will assist you in complying with the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA) requirement that you may not sell or deliver a firearm to a nonlicensee whose receipt or possession of the firearm would violate State or local laws applicable at the place of sale or delivery."
In other words, state & local firearms laws take precedence over Federal laws, at least as far as the residents are concerned.
