hand gun
hello everyone ,
looking to buy a good ladies hand gun. need help first time buyer[:I]
I'm moving this over from the "Want Ads" to the "Ask the Experts" forum. Please tell us more, such as what is it for? Self defense? Target shooting? Do you want a revolver or semi-auto? Is your wife large or small and can she handle large calibers?

Any help please0 -
Beretta 92 in 9mm. Great pistol, mags are still affordable, the pistols themselves are plentiful.

I concur. Dead reliable and you can still buy all the mags you want..

Step up to the SIG/Sauer P226 and you'll have something better than just good.

sig 226. bar none. if its good enough for the troops, its good enough for me. its actually the only handgun that wasnt purchased as the 'lowest bidder' govt habit. 226's were ordered for specops because of the quality, not the cost. only the best for the best.

I like the Taurus 99. it is one of the few with adjustable sights, can be carried cocked-and-locked, and has a safety that can be operated with one hand. I have one that I have used in IDPA competition and has over 10,000 rounds thru it and has a lifetime warrenty. 0 -
It doesn't get any better than a P226!
Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob0 -
Walther P99. 16 + 1 in 9mm, interchangeable backstraps and front sights, great action. Retired my SIG 226 for one.

For brute strength, I like the HK USP's. Not sure about the mag capacity on this one though. 0 -
Although the "Factory" mag is 13 rds, there is a "Flush" fit
15 round magazine made for the Browning Hi-Power.
This would be first choice, in my books-hands down, bar none.0 -
Sig gets my vote. Have one and won't give it up...

Gotta be the SIG 226. I've tried all the affordable 9s over the years, and the SIG is the best.

The one not mentioned is the Ruger series, P85, P89, ect. Mags still available, inexpensive, rock solid, accurate. Otherwise, the HiPower, and the CZ and clones (ie the Magnum Research Baby Eagle, EAA Witness) 0 -
The most powerful 15 round handgun has to be the Glock model 20 in 10mm!
