Mechtech carbine conversions

Have any of you guys ever tried these? Are they worth a darn? How accurate are they? I've been thinking of getting one for my 10mm Glock and retiring my Ruger .44 mag carbine before I tear it up in the brush. The 10mm would be just as ideal as the .44 mag for these close-up (definately within 100 yards) shots.

    They are reasonably accurate considering your shooting pistol ammunition out of a short "carbine" barrel.

    I've not fired one with the open sight rib option, but with red dot sights and a little "learning curve" I've repeatedly smacked 12 inch plates out to 100 yards. Of course I've done that with my S'fld long slide and open sights (from a supported position).

    Have a couple of "shootin buddies" who own 'em and I was considering buying one to put into my 3-Gun competition battery for those matches that have to be shot using a pistol caliber carbine, but at the end of the day I end up sticking with my 9mm.

    Hunting? Sure, I see no reason you couldn't do that providing you have the right ammo. Especially with Eastern White Tail and smaller game. Would I go hunting larger game with one ... no! Take your 44.

    I have one and I find it to be a great little piece. Simple to use, easy to maintain and pretty accurate. You can get one that will chamber the .460 rowland (basically a suped up .45acp but a lot more oomph) and I've seen a few pics of people that have taken small black bears with them. I've found that even with the .45acp it has virtually no recoil and probably a holosight or a red dot would be the best option to put on one of the conversion units.

    I had mine on a para-ordnance frame with hi-cap mags and it worked beautifully.

    GO FOR IT!!!!! They are great!! I had to have one after I shot my buddies. They are really accurate and fun to shoot. I put a red dot sight from Bass Pro shop on mine. Godd Luck, you wont regret it
